Brown authorities received martial arts champions

As part of the support that the Municipality of Almirante Brown provides to local athletes, interim mayor Juan Fabiani participated in a meeting with athletes specialized in martial arts from the district: Walter Javier Mazzella and Sofía Landi.

The activity took place at the Municipal Palace with the aim of exchanging sports experiences for future championships, which will take place in the coming weeks and which will have them as the main protagonists.

Walter Mazzella is a native of Rafael Calzada, current Argentine master champion and organizer of Combat Jiujitsu events. On her side, Sofía Landi is from Adrogué, also an Argentine combat champion, and in March she will have an international fight in Mexico.

Mazzella has been practicing martial arts since he was five years old: he has a black belt in judo, Japanese jiu jitsu and a second degree in BJJ. There came a time when she played it for holding events. She started alongside Srur with the Challenge Cup, a five-competitor team format.

Then it was played for a masters (for competitors over 30 years old) and the winner was sent to the CBJJE (Brazilian Sports Jiu Jitsu Confederation) World Cup in Sao Paulo.

It is worth mentioning that both received accompaniment from the Municipal Government so that they can cover expenses and prepare in the best way for the respective championships.

In this context, from the Commune they highlighted: “At Almirante Brown we have as one of the priorities to accompany our athletes who work in different disciplines so that they continue to grow and can enhance their abilities.”

Along the same lines, Juan Fabiani remarked: “Both are a true source of pride for our district and also an example of effort and perseverance.”
