Britt Dekker thinks she has not had a real social life for two years. The thirty-year-old presenter tells LINDA.girls that she spends almost all her time at the riding school.
“I don’t go to parties, I don’t go out,” says Dekker. “Going out was not my thing anyway. My friends are the people at the riding school and I still see my friends from the past about twice a year.”
The presenter divides her time between a dressage riding school in Brabant and her home in Amsterdam. She describes her boyfriend Max as “the driving force behind the scenes”. “He is always there for me and supports me in everything. Sometimes we see each other less because of the sport. It’s quite a bit, if I put it that way. But the horses keep me going.”
Dekker recently participated in a European dressage championship where she won several medals. “George is the best at his level right now. My
horse is in top condition, so I have to be too.”
The dressage rider trains five times a week for three hours with three different horses. In addition, she also trains on condition and balance. She doesn’t mind that this is at the expense of her social life. “It works,” says Dekker.
