Brazil said goodbye to the Almada Judo Grand Prix (Portugal) with three medals. On Sunday (29), Rafael Silva, the Baby, won bronze in the category over 100 kilos by beating his compatriot João Cesarino. South Korean Kim Minjong was the weight champion.
Ranked ninth in the category by the International Judo Federation (IJF), Baby finished the Grand Prix with four wins in five bouts. In addition to Cesarino, he defeated Antoniou Giannis of Cypriot, Zhambyl Turgynaliyev of Kazakhstan and Youn Jaegu of South Korea. He only lost in the semifinals to the Georgian Saba Inaneishvili (who took the silver medal). Third place will give you 350 points in the world and Olympic rankings.
