Australian Open 2023 – schedule on Friday: Medvedev against US boy Korda, also called for Swiatek, Pegula and Tsitsipas

Two of the three remaining top favorites in the men’s competition will be honored at Rod Laver Arena.

Both Stefanos Tsitsipas and 2020 and 2021 Australian Open finalist Daniil Medvedev will serve in the largest arena at Melbourne Park. While Tsitsipas has to deal with the Dutchman Tallon Griekspoor, Medvedev’s opponent Sebastian Korda is particularly tough.

The US-American, seeded number 29, had reached the final at the Australian Open dress rehearsal in Adelaide, where he had to admit defeat to Novak Djokovic after a hard-fought final.

For the women, the top seeded Iga Swiatek (against qualifier Cristina Busca) and the highly traded Jessica Pegaula (against Marta Kostyuk) are challenged in the Margaret Court Arena.

From a German point of view, Laura Siegemund, who has reached the 3rd round in singles, will meet the Russian duo Anastasia Potapova and Yana Sizikova with her Belgian partner Kirsten Flipkens at the start of the doubles competition.
