According to media reports, English footballer Alessia Russo could soon be the most expensive player in the world. Arsenal are looking to sign the 23-year-old striker from Manchester United and are willing to pay a fee in the £350,000-400,000 range, according to information released Monday. That would be more than what Barcelona paid for Keira Walsh, who joined Spain from Manchester City last autumn.
Russo’s contract with Man United is up
Barcelona are said to have spent no more than 350,000 euros on Walsh. The sum now offered is also remarkable because Russo’s contract with Manchester United expires in the summer and there has not yet been an agreement on an extension.
Russo won the European Championship with England’s squad and has five goals in nine games this season. United are top of the table with Arsenal third.
