Arqueros de Gaia achieves three medals in the Castilla y León Indoor Archery Championship

One championship and two runners-up. It is the magnificent balance that the Castilla y León Indoor Archery Championship leaves for Arqueros de Gaia, who attended this event held in Valladolid with seven representatives. Patricia Valentín Arenales won gold in the cadet category with a traditional bow and Francisco Lobete and Javier González, silver in the longbow division and in the cadet category with an Olympic recurve bow, respectively.

The Castilla y León Indoor Championship is a test that is held annually in Valladolid, normally taking advantage of the fact that the cold winter days do not allow shooting outdoors. In this year’s edition, it has brought together a total of 218 participants in all categories and divisions recognized by the Royal Spanish Archery Federation. Among them, the best in the region, which did not, however, prevent the Segovian club from returning home laden with medals.

In the traditional bow cadet category, Patricia Valentín Arenales took the championship, proclaiming herself champion of Castilla y León after an exciting and disputed final. For his part, Francisco Lobete, in the longbow division, obtained silver and runner-up in both the absolute and veteran categories with a magnificent score of 530 points. And in the Olympic recurve bow, cadet category, Javier González Antequera managed to qualify in third place and, after winning all the qualifiers, reached the final, where he was finally defeated by a great goalkeeper from Avila, proclaiming himself runner-up in Castilla y Leon.
