This is what he commented in the post-match press conference:

I was there for three weeks, at a Country Club in Boca Raton. I stayed in a house that was a two-minute drive from the training tracks and I went to train every day. Phil Hayward is the physio I’ve been working with and who has accompanied me those three weeks there, along with Ivan (Lendl). We have put a lot of work on track. I’ve also done a lot of cardio on the bike and on the Versaclimber. He had similar routines. I got up every day at the same time, had a coffee and went to train for two and a half or three hours. I would have lunch and then go to the gym in the afternoon, and sometimes I would also train on the track. I was 100% focused on my training and tennis. I have spent a lot of time improving my game and my physique.

And how do you manage your rest? “It is true that since I am a father, before I used to go to bed very late and now I try to go to bed early, prioritizing sleeping more, since that is part of the recovery process. I have already taken the bath of smell and I have eaten well. Now I’ll see my physio when I get to the hotel. It’s not easy to recover from a game that lasted almost five hours, but with all the work I’ve done in recent months, I hope I’ll recover well. I know I won’t feel perfect on Thursday, but I think I’ll be in a good position.”
