After 12 years, it really is a big change

Representing the “Standing Construct” team, Jonas rode only the KTM group motorcycles for the last 12 years, so switching to “Honda” will be a new challenge.

In previous years, the Standing Construct team that Jonas represented was a Husqvarna factory team, but this year the unit will use Honda.

The riders in the team remain the same – Jonas and the Dutchman Brian Bogers, who already competed in the Honda factory camp in 2018 and 2019.

“I will be moving from the Austrian KTM group to the Japanese Honda. After 12 years in the KTM group, it’s really a big change. The Honda bike is completely different. Me and the team will have a lot to learn, it will take some time to get used to the new bike and let’s understand all the nuances,” explained Jonas.

“The first impression of Honda is definitely very positive and good. I already feel very good on this bike. Of course, there is still a lot of work to be done so that everything is at the TOP level, but together with the team we are putting in very hard work so that we can as soon as possible show the best results,” continued the Latvian motocross rider.

“The goal of the 2023 season is to fully understand the motorcycle, to learn all the nuances. The main task is more or less to learn, because it will really take time until we get used to the torment of it. We have to enjoy the whole process, and then there will be results.”

The 2022 season was full of injuries for Jonas, but despite this, the representative of Latvia won 9th place in the overall ranking of the MXGP season.

The best result of the past season for Jonas was the MXGP Latvian stage, where he won 2nd place in front of his fans.
