The VII Solidarity March of Galapagar will be held on March 12

The VII Solidarity March of Galapagar will be held on March 12. It is a special edition since this year 2023 it will be part of the events scheduled for the V Centenary of the Villa de Galapagar. It will be organized by the Galapagar Solidarity March Association, in collaboration with the local City Council.

60% for ADISGUA

This year, 60% of the proceeds from the Galapagar Solidarity March will go to the Guadarrama Association of People with Disabilities (ADISGUA). While the remaining 40% will be distributed among various entities. That is, the Collado Villalba Multiple Sclerosis Association; the Association for the Inclusion of Young People with Disabilities (ASI); the Las Rozas Unified Theater Cultural Association (ACTU) and the Galapagar Solidarity Network.

This morning the creator of the Galapagar Solidarity March Association, Gonzalo Gil Delgado; accompanied by the mayor, Alberto Gómez; the Councilor for Sports, Mercedes Nuño; and the president of ADISGUA, Óscar Jiménez, have presented the event at a press conference.

Nine kilometers, appointment of the VII Solidarity March of Galapagar

The traditional march will be on foot with a 9 kilometer route; with departure in the Plaza de la Constitución at 10:00 a.m. From there the traditional route will begin, passing through Calvario, Pedriza and El Rincón streets until reaching the Green Gate of the Dehesa Vieja. There the participants will be able to enjoy a picnic to gain strength before returning to the Plaza de la Constitución.

At the end of the march there will be a concert and prizes will be raffled among the participants. Specifically, three prizes of 100 euros to consume among participating businesses; entry for two people to a spa circuit; two nights of accommodation and breakfast in national Paradores and a surprise gift.

Registrations can be formalized in several establishments. The Picos bookstore, Tandem Bicycles; Candelitas Haberdashery; Milar HI-FI; CD Galapagar offices; Sports Daniel’s; Galapagar Veterinary Clinic; Cafe Miro; Catalana Occidente and Asesoría Ibarra.

In addition, every Sunday in February there will be a stand in the Plaza de la Constitución to formalize the registrations. The solidarity amount is 5 euros.

The collection of numbers will be on Saturday, March 11, from 10 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.; and from 5 to 8:00 p.m., at the Marcelo Escudero Sports Center; T-shirt and shorts will be delivered to the first 2,500 participants.

To reserve the size of the shirt, it must be done in advance before February 10.

The goal is to exceed the number of 2,500 registered people.

People who cannot attend the march will also be able to collaborate by making their donation through Fila cero. As it says on the website of the Solidarity March, donations must be made by bank transfer to La Caixa: ES05 2100 3652 9822 0034 5191.
