A place among legends: Donovan Mitchell’s (Cleveland) 71 points in numbers

Since the appearance of the three-point line at the start of the 1979-1980 season, only Kobe Bryant (81 points in January 2006) and David Robinson (71 points in 1994) had delivered an evening as effective as that of Mitchell.

Facing the Chicago defense, the All-Star rear hit seven times behind the arc (out of 15 attempts) … like Bryant during his record. The five-time NBA champion, selected like Mitchell with the 13th pick in his draft, was the last player to surpass the 70-point mark.
