The year 2022 brought us many blockbuster K-dramas that took the international world by storm, but there were also quite a few K-dramas that fell short of recognition despite the stellar cast and scripts. Here are some K-dramas you might have missed last year that might be worth adding to your watch list!

“Bloody Heart”

Starring Lee Joon like king lee tae and It’s Han Na Like Yoo Jung, this historical series is about their love for each other despite their inability to be together. There is also a political battle involving Park Gye Won (Janghyuk) and Lee Tae who is leading the series.

“Bloody Heart” shook the hearts of everyone who watched it. The imminent destruction of this kingdom and the anguish of King Lee Tae and Yoo Jung was too much to bear. It is a series that begins with a very dark tone and a story that foreshadows the imminent death of the King and his lover. The series will keep you on the edge of your seat, and the writing is brilliant!

Weak Hero Class 1

“Weak Hero Class 1” is a web drama based on the hit webtoon of the same name. The series stars Park Ji Hoon like Yeon Si Eun, Choi Hyun Wook like Ahn Su Ho and Hong Kyung like Oh Boom Seok. The three students team up to fight some serious bullies and criminals in their neighborhood.

The series was quite popular in Korea as a result of the success of the webtoon, but internationally it did not get as much publicity. However, seeing Park Ji Hoon in this particular role earned him a great deal of respect. Yeon Si Eun’s character is very challenging and complex, but she was able to play it effortlessly. The complicated and unexpected story also played out perfectly, only creating more anticipation for the viewers.

Through the Darkness

“Through the Darkness” stars Kim Nam Gil as Song Ha Young, a police officer who is recruited into the Criminal Behavior Analysis team as a result of his brilliant thinking. The series is based on the true story of South Korea’s first profiler and takes viewers on a journey through the various murder cases he helped solve.

The intensity and mystery of this particular series is why it deserves all the hype. Not only is it based on true events, but watching Kim Nam Gil go from a normal police officer to a behavior analysis detective is the perfect story. It was very easy to encourage his success and his ability to solve various cases. It’s a truly captivating story about an underdog hero that you can’t miss!

Love is for Suckers

Lee Da Hee plays Goo Yeo Reum, a variety show PD, while Choi Siwon He plays Park Jae Hoon, a plastic surgeon. The two have been the best of friends for as long as they can remember and have been there for each other through all of life’s obstacles. Although they are very close, they have never had feelings for each other, until now.

No one could have expected this series to be this good, but it is. One of the main reasons why it’s so perfect is the chemistry between Choi Siwon and Lee Da Hee. Watching these two go from friends to lovers is heartwarming, to say the least. The tension between them could be cut with a butter knife. His story provides very realistic relationship situations, as well as a much-needed happy ending. They are the perfect duo. We look forward to meeting you in the near future!

“Love All Play”

Park Tae Yang (Park Joo Hyun) was a well-known badminton star, but, as a result of an incident, he had to leave the sport. Meet Park Tae Joon (Chae Jong Hyeop), who is also a badminton player, but doesn’t take the sport seriously. The two end up forming a close bond and eventually fall in love.

This is the adorable series we didn’t know we needed! Park Ju Hyun and Chae Jong Hyeop proved to K-drama viewers that their romance and chemistry is all it takes in K-dramaland. Who would have thought that a K-drama about badminton players would bring so much joy and butterflies? This series is definitely a must watch especially during the winter months as it is sure to warm your heart!

“Kiss Sixth Sense”

Seo Ji Hye She plays Hong Ye Sul, a woman who has the ability to see the future with a kiss. When she trips and kisses her boss Cha Min Hoo (Yoon Kye Sang), sees them become romantically involved. The only problem is that she can’t stand it!

Based on the popular webtoon, “Kiss Sixth Sense” is the perfect gem to watch. It has a unique and unexpected story that will have you totally involved. It’s always a treat to see Yoon Kye Sang in a romantic role, and the lovesick girl Seo Ji Hye is also fantastic. The two together make a powerful OTP – not to be missed!
