2nd Bundesliga: Missing dad Kai Brünker – police make a sad decision | Sports

There is still no trace of Dirk Brünker (61)! The father of Magdeburg’s second division striker Kai Brünker (28) has been missing in Villingen (Baden-Württemberg) since December 23. The police recently received information from an acquaintance of Dirk Brünker that the missing person could be in Neuhäuslewald.

Therefore, the forest between Villingen, Volkertsweiler and Pfaffenweiler was searched on Tuesday with corpse detection dogs and on Wednesday by special forces from the Evidence Preservation and Arrest Unit (BFE). Unfortunately without success.

What happens now? Police spokesman Jörg Kluge to BILD: “Now we have to wait to see if there are any clues as to where to look.” We haven’t until now. Otherwise, we have now more or less reached the end of the police search measures, unless there are further indications.”

Is it still assumed that the missing person is alive? “Hope dies last in missing persons cases. Of course, the time that has already passed does not necessarily speak for it,” said the spokesman for the police headquarters in Constance.

There can be many reasons why a person initially disappears without a trace when it is actually a case of missing persons. An accident, a fall, an injury or a medical emergency during a walk, such as a heart attack or even suicide, everything is basically possible.

“Often it has to do with the fact that there are no concrete indications of the last whereabouts. If they don’t exist, the police can only presumably search,” explains Kluge.

It is to be hoped that in the case of Dirk Brünker new clues will soon lead to the missing person being tracked down…
