Youth from Los Chiles win gold in International Judo Tournament

Two young athletes from Los Chiles bathed in gold at the Managua 2022 Youth Games, which take place during the last quarter of this year on Nicaraguan soil.

More than a thousand young people from Nicaragua and other countries participate in these Youth Games in different disciplines, where the ages range from 12 to 29 years.

The nationals represented this Northern Region in Judo.

They are Jennifer Sabala Estrada and Kendal Gómez Carmona, who triumphed in their respective categories.

Both won the gold medal for their sporting merit in these international fairs, in the neighboring country.

Judo is a martial arts sport, a hand-to-hand fight, whose purpose is to knock down the opponent through physical and emotional techniques. It is of Japanese origin.

Sabala Estrada, 15 years old, and Gómez Carmona, 17 years old, are trained in this sport by Senséi, Eliecer García.

The Costa Rican Judo Federation recently congratulated them for their effort, discipline and perseverance to improve technique and grow as athletes, both nationally and abroad.
