It is not binding and there is still a lot to talk about about the project of the European Super League, but the opinion of the lawyer of the Court of Justice of the European Union that supported UEFA last week has reopened the hostilities between them. Bernd Reichart, brand new CEO of the company ‘A22 Sports’, which promotes the current alternative to football, tried to get closer, but the body led by Aleksander Ceferin remained adamant in his position and returned each one to their trenches.
The European courts considered that, although the ‘European Super League Company’ is free to create its own competition independent from UEFA and FIFA, it cannot continue to participate in the football competitions organized by both without their prior authorization. An idea, that of the bar and its transfer, to which the president of LaLiga has returned today to answer a supposed survey by ‘A22 Sports’ in which he ensures that 59 percent of football fans under 25 are in favor of the Super League.
