World Cup: incredible popular jubilation in Buenos Aires after the coronation of Argentina

A real human tide. Argentina’s third world championship title, obtained this Sunday evening at the expense of the France team, is celebrated by thousands and thousands of Argentines. After having followed this match with a totally crazy scenario in the streets of Buenos Aires, the Albiceleste fans literally invaded the city after the shot on goal converted by Gonzalo Montiel.

Under a beautiful sun and summer temperatures, the Obelisk Square of the Argentine capital, the traditional place of sports festivities, welcomed thousands of supporters and was transformed into a huge blue and white wave. The images showing the celebration scenes of the Argentinian supporters have been looping on social networks for several hours.

Amid flying flags, spinning jerseys, honking concerts and songs to the glory of Messi and his partners, the Argentines savored this third star obtained after thirty-six years of waiting.

“Muchaaachos…”, the song written this year and which has become the unofficial anthem of Argentine supporters in this World Cup, resounded for long minutes in the streets of the capital. And should continue to ignite a good part of this historic night.
