Latvian fans are often called the world’s best hockey fans. During the World U-20 Hockey Championship match between Latvia and the USA, which is taking place in Canada, the attention of the operators was drawn by an energetic Latvian fan who had caught a puck that had flown into the stands.

The IIHF had also published the specific video fragment on its “TikTok” account, writing down the phrase: “Latvia, we love you.”

The commentator of the particular match also praised our fans: “Latvian fans will go everywhere. They are among the best fans in the world. They are loud, energetic, carry their flags with them. When one of them catches the puck, the rest of the arena rejoices.”

Latvian juniors lost 2:5 to the US national team in the opening round of the world championship, but on December 27, they lost 2:3 in the shootout against their Swiss peers.
