American football is in mourning. Ronnie Hillman, NFL player between 2012 and 2016, died on Thursday December 22 at the age of only 31. It was his family who announced the sad news on social networks: “It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved son, brother and father, Ronnie K Hillman Jr. Ronnie passed away peacefully today in the company of his family and close friends. We, the family, appreciate the prayers and kind words that have already been expressed. We ask that you allow us time to reflect on our feelings as we prepare to bury our precious RJ. More information will be communicated to you shortly.“Ronnie Hillman was diagnosed with a rare form of kidney cancer last August.
Passed by the Denver Broncos, the Minnesota Vikings and the San Diego Chargers, Ronnie Hillman, who played as a running back, won Super Bowl 50 in 2015 with Denver. His former franchise paid him a glowing tribute on Twitter: “We are deeply saddened by the untimely passing of former Denver Broncos running back Ronnie Hillman. A key contributor to the four winningest years in franchise history. Ronnie was on three Super Bowl teams and led the Broncos in our Super Bowl 50 championship season.
