Top 14: Sitaleki Timani medical joker at Stade Français

Toulon’s Australian international second line Sitaleki Timani has signed up as a medical joker at Stade Français, facing numerous injuries in this position, the two Top 14 clubs have announced.

Aged 36, Timani (2m03, 124 kg) was “looking for playing time”, according to the RCT, with which he has played nine games since the start of the season, including three as a starter.

Selected 18 times in the Australian team between 2011 and 2013, he will discover his fourth French club after having already played in Montpellier (2013-2016), Clermont (2016-2020) and therefore Toulon since 2022. Meanwhile, Timani did a freelance with the Australian club, Western Force in Super Rugby (2021-2022).

He will make up for the four absences for injury at Stade Français. Baptiste Pesenti broke a ligament in his ankle and is going to have surgery. Paul Gabrillagues suffers from a ligament rupture in his knee. Mathieu de Giovanni was the victim of a pectoral tear and finally Pierre-Henri Azagoh had to pass on the pool table a second time to treat a shoulder.

Currently second in the Top 14 seven points behind the leader, Toulouse, the Parisian club will host Pau on Saturday for the 14th day.
