It has already been reported that Brazil, the favorite for the 2022 World Cup final tournament, lost to Croatia in the quarter-final on Friday in the penalty shootout after the match.

Already in February, the 61-year-old Tite announced that he would not continue working for the national team after the final tournament, confirming this commitment again on Friday.

“I said before that there are other great professionals who can replace me. We didn’t win the World Cup in 2018, but I wanted to complete a full cycle. Now I’ve done it and the cycle is over,” said Tite.

After the failure of the Brazilian national team in the 2016 “Copa America” tournament, in which it did not make it to the elimination tournament, the head coach of the national team, Dunga, lost his position and was replaced by Tite.

In the 2018 final tournament, the Brazilians did not make it past the quarterfinals, but a year later they were crowned “Copa America” champions. Last year, Brazil took second place in the South American Championship.

In his career, Tite has mostly worked in Brazil, also leading the country’s strongest clubs “Gremio”, “Bela Orizonti”, “Atletico Mineiro”, “Palmeiras” and “Corinthians” of São Paulo.

Under Tite’s leadership, “Corinthians” became the champion of Brazil in 2011 and 2015, and in 2012 won the most prestigious club tournament in South America, “Copa Libertadores”.
