The Playoffs – Zach Wilson should start for Jets against Jaguarx

The New York Jets have a very decisive game next Thursday Night Football, when they face the Jacksonville Jaguars. With Mike White still injured, the team must count on Zach Wilson to play in his place, as announced by coach Robert Saleh.

White has a rib problem, and will miss his second consecutive game, as he is not yet cleared for contact training. Wilson, then, has one more chance to prove himself as a starter after having a very inconsistent match that led to the team’s loss to the Detroit Lions and making the Jets’ chances of going to the playoffs threatened.

The second overall pick in the 2021 draft, Wilson ended up on the Jets’ bench after a series of poor performances, but Saleh stuck by his quarterback, saying “he’s still going to be a good QB.” His passing percentage of just 54.9% is last among quarterbacks with at least 14 passes, while his 75.3 rating is second only to Kenny Pickett in the League.

The Jets have lost their last three games, leaving them with a seven-seven record, tied with the New England Patriots and one game behind the Miami Dolphins for the final postseason berth. The game against the Jaguars is decisive because, if NY loses, the two will have identical campaigns, and the Jacksonville team is on the rise, winning the last two against Tennessee Titans and Dallas Cowboys.

On the season, Wilson has six touchdowns and six interceptions,
