The Playoffs – Waiver Wire: The best adds for week 12 of Fantasy Football 2022

Time to kick off Week 12 of the 2022 NFL season. One of the most celebrated weeks by oval ball sport lovers due to the Thanksgiving holiday in the United States, which “stuffs” the American football schedule on Thursday (24th) and presents us with three games in a row.

With no teams in the bye week, fantasy football GMs need to pay attention to their rosters on Thursday afternoon and, of course, start thinking about the playoffs of their respective leagues and know how to further strengthen their team for the “time of the week”. truth” that is getting closer and closer. Therefore, the waiver wire becomes once again the “best friend” of those who need occasional reinforcement for a certain position that is lacking within the squad.

It is for these and others that the The Playoffs is here again, to help you find those players who will add to your team in this final stretch of competition, aiming at a certain “up” for the most important games in your league, which are approaching.

Remembering, again, that there is a warning to be careful with whom you are going to give up to make it possible to add a player via waivers, since the placement of a certain athlete of yours on the market may mean the unwanted improvement of an opposing squad.

To be eligible on our list, players have to be on a maximum of 60% of the Fantasy Football rosters on NFL.com, which is the most popular and famous platform among Brazilians.

It is also possible that the names mentioned here are in a greater or lesser percentage of casts in other applications, such as Yahoo, ESPN and Sleeper, although the tendency is for the average to be similar.

Once again we reiterate that we use the PPR score as a parameter (when there are points computed per reception), again because it is the standard and most famous model, currently, of the game, having stolen the “crown” of the old Standard (or non-PPR ) in the last years.

With that and without further ado, let’s get to the names for week 12!

RUNNING BACKS

Samaje Perine – Cincinnati Bengals (1,0% rostered)

With Bengals starter Joe Mixon in NFL concussion protocols, Samaje Perine gains strength for Week 12. Mixon had seven carries for 20 yards last game and caught three passes pre-injury. After that, Perine dominated the Cincinnati backfield and just shined. There were 11 carries for 30 yards, being the target of four passes, with four catches for 52 yards and three touchdowns. The challenge now is not the easiest, as the Bengals face the Tennessee Titans defense, which is one of the strongest against the land game. But Perine should be a reliable option with several touches on the ball. If you’re fighting for a playoff berth, he could be a player that will boost your scoring.

Isiah Pacheco – Kansas City Chiefs (40,0% rostered*)

Now an option that is already considered in the long term, different from Perine, mentioned above. Pacheco apparently dominated the ground actions for the Kansas City Chiefs and Clyde Edwards-Helaire appears to have been put “on the sidelines”. Against the Chargers in Week 11, Pacheco broke his personal best and rushed for 107 yards on 15 attempts, but he’s still trailing for his first career TD. The freshman has one more chance now, against the defense of the Los Angeles Rams, which is far from enchanting as it was in 2021. To further increase the reasons to have Pacheco on their team, the Chiefs are suffering from several injuries to receivers, the which makes the terrestrial game even more necessary. If Pacheco is “hanging out” on the waiver, add him now!

WIDE RECEIVERS

Josh Palmer – Los Angeles Chargers (30,3% rostered)

The Chargers’ attack has been suffering from several problems with receivers in the 2022 NFL season and with Mike Williams and Keenan Allen not being able to get well physically, who grows in production on the Los Angeles team is Josh Palmer. Against the Chiefs, in the last round, there were ten targets for him, with eight receptions for 106 yards and two TDs scored. Williams is a doubt for the Chargers’ game against the Cardinals and Allen is clearly not 100%. In this way, Palmer becomes a great option, not only for week 12, but for the rest of the season. We know that Justin Herbert is a QB known for releasing his arm and getting big plays, with that the WR value grows even more. Have him on your team.

Treylon Burks – Tennessee Titans (20,7% rostered)

Treylon Burks lived with some injuries during the year and missed the Titans for a period of four games. On other occasions he even acted, but without being 100% physically. Now, it seems that WR is back in good shape and we have reflected in his numbers during week 11, in which he got seven receptions for 111 yards against the Green Bay Packers secondary, which has even been doing a good job so far. Ahead of week 12 are the Bengals, who also mark the WRs well, but with the Titans finally gearing up for the season and Ryan Tannehill showing “good things”, Burks becomes an interesting name for the competition sequence.

TIGHT ENDS

Juwan Johnson – New Orleans Saints (14,1% rostered)

Name repeated here. Last week Juwan Johnson was at just over 2% rostered and is now at 14.1%, still low numbers. So here’s another chance for you to add the Saints’ TE to your team. With Michael Thomas injured, who is out for the season, and New Orleans’ growth in offensive production with Andy Dalton as the starting QB (who knew lol), Johnson was, alongside Chris Olave, who benefited the most. With three receptions for 47 yards and a TD scored against the Rams in week 11, the TE of the Saints now faces the 49ers’ defense, which is one of the strongest in the league in a not very favorable matchup. But the question about adding Johnson is thinking about the future, mainly because he faces in sequence the defenses of Tampa Bay and the Cardinals, which allow many points to the TEs. Name that could be important in an eventual playoff dispute.

Austin Hooper – Tennessee Titans (1,0% rostered)

Veteran Austin Hooper is, for a few seasons, a name that ends up becoming interesting to have in the cast over the course of the season. This happens again in the year 2022, with the Titans’ TE growing “just in time”. It is true that the growth is from the entire offensive set of the Titans, especially with Ryan Tannehill (a name that we will not mention in this article, but which can also be a considerable addition). Hooper scored two TDs in Week 11 and caught four passes, of the four that went his way, against Green Bay. Ahead is the Bengals’ defense, which is also doing a good job so far, but Hooper can continue his growth along with the entire Tennessee attack.

QUARTERBACK

Deshaun Watson – Cleveland Browns (52,1% rostered)

Time for controversy, but we won’t even get into the personalities of the Cleveland Browns QB. That Deshaun Watson is an extremely talented quarterback, we know. Debuting only in week 13 due to suspension, Watson will still have a good attack to “call his own”. However, is it worth betting on the player who stayed out of the entire 2021 season and is only debuting at the end of the 2022 regular season? In a short time, can he be important to your fantasy team to the point of raising their playoff level? It could be, and depending on who your QBs are, Watson could be interesting. The player is training and played “the fine ball” in his time with the Houston Texans, which was a team far inferior to what he will find with the Browns. Wanting to show service, the QB tends to “let go of the arm” in order to also put Cleveland on the playoff route in this final stretch of the regular season. A bold bet, but one that could pay off.
