The Playoffs – The thermometer of Fantasy Football in Week 17 of the NFL (FINAL)

It’s time for the Fantasy Football Finals in the 2022 NFL season. Now, it’s the ultimate moment for you to get all your choices right for your starting lineup and lift the cup in dispute.

For this reason, the The Playoffs wants to help you become champions and brag about being the King of Fantasy Football to your friends and opponents. And with so many big games coming up in Week 17 of the NFL, knowing which teams can spare players and not utilize their top names so well is also important.

Either way, it’s always important to remember that superstars like Joe Burrow, Christian McCaffrey, Justin Jefferson and Travis Kelce won’t be mentioned, as they are pretty obvious choices, even with their teams already ranked.

Anyway, the tips are simple: the hot ones are those players who, for this round, have favorable matchups to score very well. The cold ones are exactly the opposite: those who tend to score few points or a lower score than what is expected as an average of such players, at least this week.

In addition, it is noted that the tips are based on the scoring format that left the old “standard” behind, consolidated itself as the most popular and is now the standard on all major platforms: the PPR, which is the one that assigns one point per reception.

hot quarterbacks

Kirk Cousins (Minnesota Vikings @ Green Bay Packers) – “Captain Kirk” has been doing good numbers in recent weeks and takes a defense that has already suffered at his hand and that of his receivers in the first game between the two of the season. With Justin Jefferson and TJ Hockenson helping, the Vikings’ QB should be doing great once again.

Dak Prescott (Dallas Cowboys @ Tennessee Titans) – The Titans’ defense has suffered a lot with the amount of time they’ve been on the field, even more so because their offense can’t be as efficient as before. And Prescott has been having more than consistent games, especially with CeeDee Lamb being the terror of rival secondary. The bet here seems to be more than promising.

Other Hot QBs: Daniel Jones (NYG vs IND), Trevor Lawrence (JAC @ HOU), Jared Goff (CHI @ DET)

cool quarterbacks

Geno Smith (Seattle Seahawks vs New York Jets) – For another week the Seattle offense has been suffering. Now, he has one of the best defenses in the league, which has a good pass rush and a cornerback that has been talked about even in his first year in the NFL. Even though Geno Smith has helped many Fantasy Football players during the year, it seems that it is very difficult to count on him in this more than decisive moment, even with the Seahawks needing to win to qualify for the playoffs.

Aaron Rodgers (Green Bay Packers vs Minnesota Vikings) – Aaron Rodgers has one of the toughest receiver bodies in the entire league. Even their RBs haven’t been doing well on pass receptions. With all of these factors taken into account, if Minnesota’s defense can contain the WRs available to A-Rod, I think he’s in for another low-point Fantasy game.

Other Cool QBs: Justin Fields (CHI @ DET), Tom Brady (TB vs CAR), Justin Herbert (LAC vs LAR)

Running Backs quentes

James Conner (Arizona Cardinals @ Atlanta Falcons) – With all the problems the Cardinals have been through all year, Conner has been the team’s only bright spot. He had a great Week 16 and if he can get healthy to play the Falcons, he should have a good score to help you win your league title.

Tyler Allgeier (Atlanta Falcons vs Arizona Cardinals) – The duel is favorable for the corridors, with the defenses having lows and giving up good land yards. Allgeier has taken the Falcons’ backfield by storm lately and should have good runs to help his final score, especially depending on who you have as a flex on your team.

Other hot RBs: D’Onta Foreman (CAR@TB), Cam Akers (LAR@LAC), Austin Ekeler (LAR@LAC)

Running Backs frios

J.K. Dobbins (Baltimore Ravens vs Pittsburgh Steelers) – The player came back with everything, but the drop in his production came in the last duel and he was unable to score in the game within the game as before. Therefore, the bet on Dobbins becomes quite risky and it is difficult to imagine that he will do well against this Pittsburgh front.

Kenneth Walker (Seattle Seahawks vs New York Jets) – After the injury, Walker was unable to be the disruptive runner he had been. Even with the Seahawks also depending on him to go to the playoffs, the matchup is not favorable for the rookie. He should be able to score, but I’m not betting on anything special this week.

Other cold RBs: Nick Chubb ( CLE @ WAS), Josh Jacobs (SF @ LV), Rhamondre Stevenson (NE vs MIA)

hot wide receivers

DeVonta Smith (Philadelphia Eagles vs New Orleans Saints) – Yes, Smith has been the Eagles’ top wide receiver in recent weeks. In Fantasy Football he has been much more than a good flex, managing to pass many other players in the position, even more so in PPR leagues. So, if he manages to keep up the pace, his last week of Fantasy Football could be very fruitful.

Tee Higgins (Cincinnati vs Buffalo) – With Higgins doing performances as WR1, it’s hard for him not to keep getting good passes from Joe Burrow. The player has made great numbers on the field and in the FF, being extremely decisive in the semis. Betting on him for another week could be the point you need to win your league.

Other Hot WRs: Gabe Davis (BUF @ CIN), Terry McLaurin (WAS vs CLE), DJ Moore (CAR @ TB)

Wide Receivers frios

Stefon Diggs (Buffalo Bills @ Cincinnati Bengals) – Yes, it’s strange to see Diggs’ name here. But WR deserved to be among the cold names this week, as he hasn’t delivered everything he can do on the field. For that reason, it’s risky to think that he will be the decisive factor in this AFC duel.

Mike Evans (Tampa Bay Buccaneers vs Carolina Panthers) – Even though he is the WR1 of the cast, Evans has not acted as such. He lost too much space on the passes to Chris Godwin and it is not this week that he has scored very little in Fantasy Football for that. So benching Bucs number 13 is not a bad option.

Other cold WRs: Jaylen Waddle (MIA @ NE), DeAndre Hopkins (ARI @ ATL), Davante Adams (LV vs SF)

Tight Ends quentes

Evan Engram (Jacksonville Jaguars @ Houston Texans) – What Evan Engram has been doing all year is hats off. The player has been growing more and more under the command of Doug Pederson and with Trevor Lawrence looking for him whenever possible. As a result, he led the team in passing yards for another week and that should be repeated against the Texans.

Other Hot TEs: T.J. Hockenson (MIN @ GB), Dawson Knox (BUF @ CIN), Tyler Higbee (LAR @ LAC)

Tight Ends frios

Mark Andrews (Baltimore Ravens vs Pittsburgh Steelers) – With Lamar gone, Andrews has been called on less and less. The Ravens’ aerial game was heavily exploited in him, but Huntley doesn’t have the same ability as the team’s starting QB and that affected the tight end in several ways in this final stretch of the NFL season. So if you have another option for the position in your squad, think about it.

Other cold TEs: Chigoziem Okonkwo (TEN vs DAL), David Njoku (CLE@WAS), Juwab Johnson (NO@PHI)

hot defenses

New England Patriots (vs Miami Dolphins) – It’s been a good season for the Patriots’ defense, but now taking Miami without Tua Tagovailoa could make the unit’s mission even easier. The bet here seems to be right and help you lift your league cup in Fantasy Football.

Other hot defenses: San Francisco 49ers (@ LV), Philadelphia Eagles (vs NO), Pittsburgh (@ BAL)

cold defenses

Denver Broncos (@ Kansas City Chiefs) – Once one of the top defenses in the NFL this season, he’s unlikely to do well against Patrick Mahomes and company this week. The Broncos’ score was negative in Week 16 of the NFL, hurting many teams that were in the FF semis. So run away from them!

Other cold defenses: Tampa Bay (vs CAR), Cleveland (@WAS), Seattle Seahawks (vs NYJ)

hot kickers

Brett Maher (Dallas Cowboys @ Tennessee Titans) – The kicker has been good all year and against the Titans is a promise of converting good kicks for Maher. A score above ten is expected for the Cowboys player with the team arriving at least in the red zone.

Other hot kickers: Graham Gano (NYG vs IND), Robbie Gould (SF @ LV), Greg Joseph (MIN @ GB)

cold kickers

Tyler Bass (Buffalo Bills @ Cincinnati Bengals) – Here we can have a few points duel or almost no chances for Bass to try field goals. With other names doing well in recent weeks, it’s worth betting on them than on the kicker of the best AFC team so far, even the game being away from the snow and wind of Buffalo.

Other cold kickers: Jason Myers (SEA vs NYJ), Wil Lutz (NO @ PHI), Daniel Carson (LV vs SF)
