During its last session, the Giunta approved the support of the Municipality of Grosseto to “SportArte“, the project of the amateur sports association Skeep in support of the sporting activity of disabled children. The initiative is aimed at approx seventy disabled people who carry out, with the support of volunteers, Paralympic athletics, archery, football, swimming, hippotherapy and bowls, completely free of charge.
“We strongly believe – commented the mayor in this regard Anton Francesco Vivarelli Colonna and the social commissioner Sarah Minozzi – that the commitment to a society that is increasingly inclusive and respectful of all diversity must never fail, on the contrary. This is precisely the moment in which, to counter the increasingly imminent risk of seeing accentuated differences and imbalances, it is necessary to multiply every effort. In this sense, sport continues to represent a real engine of social aggregation which, in addition to the obvious positive effects on health and well-being, has become a vehicle of real support for all those people, especially the most young people, who live in a condition of disability or disadvantage“.
“That’s why we are happy – they conclude mayor and councilor – to concretely support the amateur sports association Skeep in a project like ‘SportArte’, which we considered really important to promote the inclusion and social integration of all the participants”.
