The Interclubes have their champions

The Club Atlético San Lorenzo de Almagro became champion in the ladies’ version of the First Division Interclubes of the Argentine Tennis Association, while Buenos Aires Lawn Tennis Club he did it in gentlemen. Both finals, it should be remembered, were played on the fast court of the Argentine Tennis Club.

On the women’s side, the Barça team beat Gimnasia y Esgrima de Buenos Aires 2-0 and, in this way, to win the fourth title in the history of the traditional AAT team competition (2017, 2018, 2019 and 2022).

In the team led by Catalina Pella, their singlists once again excelled, Bolivian Noelia Zeballos Melgar and Sierra Solana from Mar del Plata, who won all the games he played this season for San Lorenzo. Zeballos Melgar, champion of a W15 this season, closed the series by beating 18-year-old Tiziana Rossini 6-4, 6-2.

The BALTC champions are: Tomás Etcheverry, Juan Pablo Ficovich, Nicolás Kicker, Andrés Molteni, Román Burruchaga, Martín Cuevas, Fermín Tenti, Lautaro Midón, Santiago Giamichelle, and captain Bruno Tiberti.

The teams received the trophy from Agustín Calleri, President of the AAT; and César Francis, Administrative Secretary of the institution. Between the ladies’ and men’s finals, an activity of Adapted Foot Tennis, an organization that works with people who wear prostheses, young people with Down syndrome and short stature, and with reduced mobility; and the Juanito Foundation, which is dedicated to the protection of children and adolescents in vulnerable situations.
