Salerno, Gatra.com – The Mexican goalkeeper, Guillermo Ochoa, has officially endorsed the Italian Serie A club, Salernitana, after participating in the Qatar 2022 World Cup.
The 37-year-old goalkeeper defends Salernitana with a 6-month contract with an option to extend.
This will be Ochoa’s first experience competing in Serie A. With Salernitana, Ochoa will also continue to wear his number 13 Pride jersey. Ochoa himself had adventures in Europe from 2011 to 2019.
The 1.85m tall goalkeeper began competing on the blue continent after signing for French club Ajaccio. In 2014 he moved to Spain to strengthen Malaga.
But Ochoa was loaned to another Spanish club, Granada. In 2017 he moved to Belgium to obtain Standard Lease until 2019. From Liege he returned home to his first club, America.

The flamboyant goalkeeper, always seen with bushy hair and wearing a headband, has represented Mexico since 2005, when Ochoa made his senior national team debut at age 20 in a friendly against Hungary.
Ochoa became an irreplaceable goalkeeper in Mexico. He has played in the World Cup 5 times since the 2006 World Cup.
At the 2022 World Cup, his impressive performance was seen when Mexico faced Poland. Ochoa successfully saved Robert Lewandowski’s penalty in that match.
