The embedded sports field under the Gongshu Zhonghe Elevated Road was put into use
Hangzhou Daily reported that the space under the bridge was utilized, and the common people happily played table tennis and basketball. Recently, Gongshu District built a new multi-functional embedded fitness venue of about 400 square meters under the Zhonghe Viaduct, including a basketball court and a table tennis court. The specific location is just south of the intersection of Zhaohui Road and Zhonghe Road, facing the canal.
The site was originally a wasteland by the canal, and there were often homeless people sleeping in the open. Today, Zhaohui Street makes full use of the city’s “Golden Corner and Silver Edge” area to create an important part of the “10-minute fitness circle” for ordinary people. At present, the sports venue is in the trial operation stage, and the opening hours are from 8:00 am to 10:00 pm.
It is reported that the embedded sports field is currently open to the public free of charge. It consists of a non-standard basketball court and three table tennis courts. The elevated road forms a natural roof to shelter from wind and rain, and the ground is all covered with brightly colored plastic. The basketball court has also thoughtfully installed a fence to prevent the basketball from rolling into the water next to it. “We are also collecting residents’ opinions on how to manage better in the later stage. We may make an appointment system, and we are also considering hiring a third-party operating company.” Secretary Hu of Shijia Garden Community said.
It is reported that Zhaohui Street has built a total of 2,000 square meters of embedded sports venues this year.
