The Barça players visit the Sant Joan de Déu Youth Council

First team players Sergi Martínez and Oscar da Silva, and Barça CBS players Marta Canella, Anna Cruz and Kristina Rakovic have visited the Youth Council of Hospital Sant Joan de Déu, a group of teenagers that meets periodically to talk about possible improvements in their experience as patients.

The Christmas visit, which consisted of a meeting of more than an hour between the members of the council and the athletes, served as an exchange of experiences. The players have shared their life stories both on and off the court, and the youngsters on the council have explained their processes as chronically ill and how they have coped over the years.

The Youth Council of the Sant Joan de Déu Hospital is a group of adolescents who have been treated for their illnesses at this center for years and who meet regularly to share their point of view on the operation of the facility to give patients a voice admitted to or visiting the center frequently.

At the end of the dialogue, Martínez, Da Silva, Canella, Cruz and Rakovic handed out gifts from the Barça Foundation to the youngsters and shared confidences and smiles. In addition, the Barça CBS players have invited the members of the group and their families to their match this Thursday, December 22, against Casademont Zaragoza, at the Palau Juan Carlos Navarro in Sant Feliu de Llobregat.
