To promote physical activity at all ages and teamwork, the Municipality began to install tables to play soccer-tennis in the different squares. The first one was installed in Inclusion and later they will continue in other green spaces.
Eduardo Moyana, Secretary of Infrastructure, Urban Works and Services, commented that it is a pre-cast cement structure that they acquired to add new alternatives and that residents can do different sports while traveling through the lungs of the city.
“It is something new that is being used in other provinces and it brings a lot of fun. It is a curved board that makes it easier to hit the ball, where two or four people can play and add teams to compete and have a good time with friends or family”, he assured.
Moyana pointed out that in the site located on 9 de Julio and Maipú, they also completely renovated the tables, and painted and welded the games and incorporated sports equipment, since it is a block that the people of Mercedenos choose a lot to go for a walk or run for their amplitude.
In addition, he indicated that they are installed and designed so that they cannot be easily damaged. “In total there are ten and the first pilot test was to see what reaction the neighbors had and the truth is that it was very good, at first they didn’t know how to use it, but the following days from early we see that the boys in the area are playing ”, he remarked.
The next spaces in which they will be installed will be Plaza de la Salud, La Italia and El Lago. “We will go over and restore the infrastructure of each place to provide quality alternatives to the neighbors,” he concluded.
