Sander Armée stops the search for a new team: “A new challenge awaits me” | cycling

Then no cycling transfer for 37-year-old Sander Armée of Cofidis.

“This is my last day as a cycling pro. From January my career will look completely different,” the cyclist said on his Instagram. “I’m looking forward to the new challenge that awaits me. It’s been great getting to know new people and different cultures over the years.”

“I have made friends for life. I want to thank all the teams that gave me the opportunity to practice my sport and will continue to support them.”

Armée rode in his career in the jerseys of Topsport Vlaanderen (2010-2013), Lotto (2014-2020), Qhubeka (2021) and Cofidis (2022). In that of Lotto he booked his only two professional victories. In 2017 he won the eighteenth stage in the Tour of Spain, which he finished nineteenth in the final standings, in 2020 he won the third stage in the Tour Poitou-Charentes and Nouvelle Aquitaine (2.1).

In 2017 he took second place, two seconds behind the Frenchman Clément Venturini, just short of the overall victory in the Four Days of Dunkirk (2.BC). Ten times he was at the start of a grand tour: six times for the Vuelta and four times for the Giro.
