San Marino Baseball is not registered for Serie A 2023

San Marino Baseball has decided not to sign up for Serie A 2023, now in rupture with the top management of FIBS.

The team that last September was crowned champion of Italy for the sixth time, the second in a row, will not take the field in the top flight after having long protested the format that the league will use next season.

For the first time, the Scudetto will not be defended by the team that had won the tournament the year before.

San Marino Baseball will not participate in Serie A 2023

Il San Marino Baseball has announced that he will not take part in the next championship of A league after having long threatened to quit the tournament and now in a break with the Italian federation.

The reason for this is the fact that the formation of the enclave did not accept the championship formatsimilar to last year’s, which will see, to date, twenty-nine teams at the start, with a division based on the seeded teams and on a ranking modified by proximity between teams.

Many of the companies contested the timetable proposed by FIBS for the 2023 season, with San Marino Baseball and its president Alberto Antolini in charge, and they had proposed a meeting to try to change things, but without success.

In September 2022, the San Marino team had won their sixth title, the second in a row, in the Italian Baseball championship, beating the ParmaClimateanother team that has decided not to appear together with Academy Nettuno, Brescia and Castelfranco Veneto, but next year will not defend the tricolor obtained on the field.
