The Blue Star Basketball Academy signs the return to Italy of Samuel “Same” Givens made official as the new player of the nerostellata team.
Born in 1989 in Philadelphia, Samme is in the second team in Italy, after always moving to Serie A2 in Ravenna two seasons ago, averaging 12.5 points and almost 7 rebounds in 37 games played between the Super Cup, regular season and playoffs. Left-handed power forward, able to act as a centre, he brings a great deal of experience gained over a career that saw him move, after training at Drexler University, to Holland, France, Germany, Israel, Finland, with the last two stops in South America (Argentina and Mexico) before landing in the capital.
The first statements of the new player of the Blue Star: “I am very happy with the idea of joining this club, I can’t wait to join the group and get to know all the members of the company. I will try to make my qualities and experience available to everyone; together with all the team mates we will try to improve team performance and score points in the standings.”
Speaking of your engagement, the General Manager Julio Trovato: “I’ve already had the opportunity and the honor of sharing my journey with Samme in Ravenna, where he proved to be a player with a double offensive dimension, knowing how to disengage himself both front and back to the basket, making knowledge of the game his main quality. We will ask him to give support under the scoreboards and a contribution of experience, aware that it can be a great help in resolving our situation, but not the only solution to our problems to be faced instead with a collective effort.”
