Rubén Marqués and Noelia Menéndez are crowned in the San Silvestre de Pravia

Noelia Menéndez and Rubén Marqués took victory in the “San Silvestre” in Pravia, which had more than 200 participants. Menéndez completed the four kilometers of the test in 17 minutes and two seconds, while Marqués crossed the finish line signing a time of 13 minutes and 50 seconds. The men’s podium was completed by Pelayo Fernández, who finished the race in 14 minutes and three seconds, and José Riesco, who took thirteen seconds more. In the women’s race, alongside Noelia Menéndez, Esther Menéndez stood on the podium, with a time of 17 minutes and 8 seconds, and Elena Fernández, who crossed the finish line thirty seconds later than her partner.

Accompanying the asphalt test, a trail race was also held, in which Xabel Guiu and Beatriz Tenreiro won. Guiu needed 20 minutes to complete the five kilometers of the test, while Tenreiro took 25. Chus Álvarez and Elena Fernández finished second and third place went to Ignacio Pello and Elena Vega.

The test served to pay tribute to José Luis Sierra, a runner who for more than thirty participated in the “San Silvestre”, but who had to leave it at the age of 75 to avoid risks. Of course, in this edition he ran the test again to thank the tribute.
