Round of 16: six confirmed matches and what’s to come

This Thursday another two World Cup groups will be completed and the round of 16 draw is taking shape. For Group F, Morocco was the big surprise by finishing first. While Croatia entered as second after equalizing and leaving Belgium out, one of the disappointments of Qatar 2022. A while later, Germany was left out again despite the 4-2 defeat of Costa Rica in a group that Japan incredibly won by beating 2-1 to Spain (second).

So far, six clashes have already been confirmed in that instance: The Netherlands (1st A) vs. United States (2nd B), England (1st B) vs. Senegal (2nd A), Argentina (1° C)-Australia (2° D), France (1° D)-Poland (2° C), Morocco (1° F)-Spain (2° E), Japan (1° E)-Croatia (2°F). Brazil and Portugal await rivals.

So far, those who have been left out in the group stage are Ecuador and Qatar (group A), Iran and Wales (B), Mexico and Saudi Arabia (C), Tunisia and Denmark (D), Canada and Belgium (F). and Costa Rica and Germany (E).

In the Argentina part of the draw, the Netherlands appears as the other leader of the group, with the incredible Japan that won the zone of Germany and Spain and Brazil as very feasible first in the other zone. All will have obstacles in the round of 16 of different caliber such as Australia, the United States, Croatia and Ghana or Uruguay (the last three, to be defined).
