Among hundreds of athletes nationwide, Quindians won 11 medals in the Judo ‘Mega Event’ held in Bogotá.

With the participation of 793 athletes, 282 women and 511 men, from 18 country delegations, the Club Senshi del Quindío achieved eleven medals in the “National Mega Event” of the Colombian Judo Federation held in the city of Bogotá from November 30 to December 4.

The tournament was held in the mKata modalities, individual Shiai and team Shiaiin the categories Sub-9, Sub-11, Sub-13, Sub-15, Sub-18, Sub-21, Majors/Colors, Majors National Pregames and Masters.

Fourteen athletes participated in the Quindiana delegation trained by Juan Manuel González who achieved reap 3 gold medals; one in veterans and 2 in children.

In addition to 5 silver; 2 in katas, one in sub-13 and 2 in children. While they got 3 bronzes in the sub-18 category both individually and in combat, being the first time that a team medal has been achieved in the combat modality.

In the tournament, work tables were also held to project next year’s agenda, with a view to international competitions, development of training judo and judging, among other aspects.
