How close or far was it to Bad Boy Václav Sivak appearing on Friday’s Oktagon 38 in the O2 arena? He received an offer for a match with Losen Keita, but no agreement was reached. Why not, this is indicated by the words of the head of the organization Ondřej Novotný, who spoke about Bad Boy’s roping in his next piece MMA Letem Světem.

“Sivák got an offer from us. I think it’s a very decent one,” Novotný confirmed, but he didn’t slap him. RFA chief Boris Marhanský already does. It was Sivak who was the main star of the recent RFA 7 event in Prague’s Královka hall, where he won the title after defeating Patrik Záděra. And after the match, not only he determined his price, which made Novotný laugh a little…

“I had a good time when I saw the various announcements. And I say that with all due respect to Sivák, Růžiček and anyone who participated in that tournament. I really respect the fighters, I always say that they are my heroes. But if you want to do this business, you have to have real numbers. This tournament showed once again how unrealistic those numbers can sometimes be. It was held in a hall that held just over two thousand spectators and was nowhere near a sellout. The tournament sold out to the main Marpa’s match with Škondrič. Then he was sold on Sivák, Míra Brož, Růžička and other fighters who should have been there and weren’t, which can happen,” noted the Octagon boss.

“Tickets were handed out by the dozens around Prague. I was also offered tickets, which is the funnest part. But what do I mean, then you sit there after a tournament that you couldn’t even sell out, and you say, I want a million, I want a million and a half , I also want big money, while the day before yesterday almost no one knew you, at least in at least two cases. However, if you can’t sell out even a two-thousand-thousand hall, then it doesn’t work. Matika won’t let you go,” Novotný said clearly.

Between the lines, he indicated that the demands of some fighters are simply not based on reality. Especially if they seriously think they should get a million and a half for the fight… “I wish those guys the moment they are able to deliver what they want to pay for. When you do the math, the ticket would have to cost an average of over thousand crowns, some 1,500, so that it would be at least zero for such a match in such a place. And that was definitely not worth it, that would be outrageous,” Novotný pointed out.

“I wish everyone to get as much as they deserve. But you also have to deliver. If you can’t sell out such a small hall, then there’s something wrong with the Matrix,” he concluded with a smile.
