Norwegian biathletes Kontiolahti celebrate the victory in the PK stage relay

The Norwegians were in the lead from the start when Vetle’s Shostad Kristiansen had built up a 6.3-second lead over France’s Eric Parot after the first stage. The second stage continued for the Norwegians with Sturla Holm Lægreid dropping back one position, but Tarjeij Bæ and Johannes Tingnes Bæ regained first place for Norway in the remaining two stages.

The winning quartet covered all the targets using a total of seven spare rounds, finishing in one hour, 19 minutes and 26.2 seconds.

The second place was won by the German team, which shot all the targets using eight spare cartridges, but was 43.9 seconds behind the Norwegians. The top three are rounded off by the French, who, thanks to nine spare cartridges, managed to avoid penalty laps, finishing one minute and 5.9 seconds behind the winners.

Latvian biathletes did not start in the relay competition. Also, without the participation of Latvia, a 4×6 kilometer relay for women will also be held today.

On Saturday, there will be a sprint competition – ten kilometers for men and 7.5 kilometers for women. The first PK stage will end on Sunday, when the pursuit is planned, with men competing in a 12.5-kilometer distance, and women in ten kilometers.

The second stage of the PK will take place from December 8 to 11 at the Austrian track in Hochfilzen, while the final of the ten stages of the PK competition is scheduled for December 16-19. in Oslo in March.
