Nike breaks up with NBA star

The controversial basketball star Kyrie Irving has lost his multi-million dollar sponsorship contract with the multi-sports goods company Nike.

As the Oregon company told the news agency AFP confirmed, the recently suspended advertising relationship with the 30-year-old professional of the NBA club Brooklyn Nets was officially ended. (NEWS: NBA shows all Supertalent games)

Irving is said to have received more than eleven million dollars a year from Nike, his shoe models are among the top sellers in the basketball sector.

Irving, who had initially attracted attention in recent years with crude conspiracy theories and finally as an opponent of vaccination, had shared the link to a film with clearly anti-Semitic content on social media. the Nets had temporarily suspended Irving afterwards.

Only after fulfilling a detailed catalog of measures and paying a fine was Irving allowed to appear again in the NBA. In response to the events, Nike suspended the contract with the seven-time Allstar.
