NFL: Colts deprived of Jonathan Taylor for the rest of the season

The Indianapolis Colts have placed running back Jonathan Taylor on the disabled list. He will miss the rest of the season, it was announced on Tuesday.

The Colts also said they signed running back Jordan Wilkins, who moves from the practice squad to the 53-man roster.

Taylor injured his ankle in the opening series on offense after catching a 13-yard pass in the overtime loss to Minnesota.

The Wisconsin product missed three games earlier this season with an ankle injury.

The 23-year-old led the league on the ground last season and had 861 yards with four touchdowns in 11 games this season.

The Colts (4-9-1) will be back in action when they host the Los Angeles Chargers next week in Monday night’s game.
