Improving sports facilities means raising the quality of the proposed offer. The commitment of the municipal administration continues in favor of the city’s sports centers owned by the institution which need restructuring and redevelopment interventions in order to preserve them. This is the case of the baseball field in via Arzignano, in Villachiaviche, managed by Elephas Cesena and made up of a play area, changing rooms and an outdoor area.
“In parallel with the project for the regeneration and implementation of the sports centers identified in the Cesena Sport City area – comments the Councilor for Sport Christian Castorri – these last two years have seen, and will see, various redevelopment interventions on the existing sports building. Following this concrete vision of regeneration and improvement of the lives of all those, young people above all, who train every day in these facilities, we have identified a redevelopment and energy saving intervention, for a total value of 170 thousand euros, which will be carried out in the hub in via Arzignano for the promotion and improvement of energy efficiency. As happened for the Stadium, for the Hippodrome gym – continues the Councilor – the new LED lighting system will allow the Company to make full use of the area with considerable energy savings”.
For a correct sporting activity, which develops mainly in the evening hours of the summer period, in the sports complex that houses the only baseball field in the city, it was necessary to build a lighting system in 2009 consisting of 2 light towers with 12 projectors each from 2,000 watts, responding to a need shared by the licensed sports club, linked to the conduct of sports competitions. Today, after having surveyed and verified the current lighting system, it turned out that some light points require further maintenance. Therefore we will proceed with the replacement of the 24 halogen lights divided over 2 light towers, with new 36 LED lights, thus going from a consumption of 48,000 watts to 43,200 watts. The generator set equipped with an internal combustion engine, which currently supplies current to the lighthouses which will be connected to a new electrical panel directly to the public network, will also be demolished.
Specifically, during 2021 and 2022, the municipal administration intervened in the Hippodrome gym, with the installation of a sound-absorbing false ceiling, a new LED lighting system, and other works in the external area; in favor of the 5-a-side soccer field in Ruffio, with redevelopment works through the installation of a synthetic base, new fences and a new LED lighting system; at Carisport, installing new external fixtures; to the artistic gymnastics gym, with a new air conditioning system; and finally to the Municipal Stadium, arranging the assembly of new access parapets to the external stairs. In relation to the sports centers of Case Gentili and San Vittore, a new lighting system will instead proceed with the installation of the 11-a-side football pitch.
