NBF Castellón was proclaimed champion of the Preferred Junior Women’s Cup 2022-2023 after winning in a tight final against Comenius basketball by 57-46, a final that was played in the Gata de Gorgos sports hall.
This is the Club’s third title in this competition, after those achieved in the 2018-2019 and 2019-2020 seasons.
The pavilion hosted the final phase in the first game of the semifinals, the already champions beat CB San Blas de Alicante B 71-48 and in the other game, Basquet Comenius achieved victory against Blansa CBF Puerto de Sagunto by 73- 55.
The two teams met in the final on Sunday, in which the team from the capital of La Plana beat the Valencians 57-46.
The match was witnessed by the mayor of Gata, Josep Francesc Signes, the councilor for sports, Toni Arabí and together with the president of the Gata Basketball Club, María Monfort and the delegate of the Valencian Community Basketball Federation in Alicante, Juan Miguel Sila, they handed out the trophies to the winners.
In addition, the player Alejandra Baudet from NBF Castelló was named MVP of the Final and received a very special and typical gift from Gata de Gorgos.
