NBA, Shaquille O’Neal owner of a franchise?

Shaquille O’Neal is a basketball legend who can boast four NBA titles won, fourteen All-NBA team selections and fifteen calls to the All Star Game.

Shaq managed to stock up on successes in his time in Los Angeles on the side of the Lakers (three consecutive titles 2000-2001-2002), but he maintained a great bond with the state of Floridawhere he spent eight years evenly split between Orlando Magic e Miami Heat (title won in 2006).

During his podcast BIGO’Neal has expressed his love for Florida once again, expressing the desire to become a franchise owner in that zone:

I want to own a team in Florida. You decide, anywhere in Florida. I want to own an NBA franchise in Florida

Unfortunately for Shaq, the two teams to which he has linked years of competitive career, Heat and Magic, are not for sale and therefore he could be forced to wait several years before being able to fulfill his dream.

It is not the first time that O’Neal has expressed interest in buying the Magic, in fact this summer he even promised the current owners (the DeVos family, owners since 1991) to be ready to do their utmost to bring Orlando back to its former glory.

Look, we still run that franchise (Magic). If you want to sell to us, the DeVos family, we’re ready right away… This message goes to the DeVos family. If you’re ready to sell the Orlando Magic, sell it to someone who can take it to the next level, which is us

Only time will tell if Shaq e LeBron Jameswho has repeatedly expressed the desire to become the owner of a franchise in Las Vegas, will make their dream come true.
