Following the completion of the group matches in the Edirne Men’s Basketball League, the semi-finals that will determine the representatives of Edirne and Kırklareli were held at Mimar Sinan Sports Hall on Wednesday evening.
In the first match last night, he faced Fatih Sultan Mehmet (FSM), who came first in the group by winning all the matches in his group, and M&M Basketball Academy, who came second in the group by losing only to Babaeski.
The audience, which filled half of the hall, came to watch the most competitive men’s basketball of the year. It was noteworthy that before the match, the teams of both clubs continued to warm up seriously for the match until seconds before the start of the match on the parquet.
With the start of the match, both teams began to force the opponent’s basket. The first half of the period had not yet ended when Mülkü took her first timeout for the Black Sea team after FSM scored consecutive points in the first period. M&M Basketball, which started to be effective under the basket after the timeout, was entering the end of the half with one point behind 16/17.
Despite the points scored by both teams in the second period, FSM was giving a break to M&M Basketball with its pressured game. After the time-out, the match continued with reciprocal numbers, and the gap increased to four, and FSM managed to finish 30/26 ahead in the first half.
3rd PERIOD M&M DIFFERENCE
In the 3rd period, M&M managed to take the lead by 4 points at the end of the period, which started 4 points after 15 points in the basket, despite 23 points scored by the opponent with a fast game by applying pressure all over the field, running more, defending the painted area well, and scoring 23 points.
M&M Basketball, which did not allow the reaction of FSM, which started to get tired in the last period, did not allow the gap to close and won the match 63/58, thus qualifying to represent Edirne in the Regional League.
