On December 27, the Chiba Lotte Marines announced that former Yomiuri Giants outfielder Gregory Polanco had joined the team.
Through the team, Polanco said, “I am very happy that I have decided to join the Chiba Lotte Marines.
He continued, “I’ve played hard in Japan this season, and I’m excited to be back in Japan for the 2023 season and play in front of all the fans as a member of the Marines. I’m looking forward to meeting the manager, coaches and teammates soon and playing baseball together.I promise to do my best to show the best performance ever.Everyone, let’s be the best in Japan together. !” he enthusiastically said.
Coach Yoshii Rihito said, “He’s a very good player. He has power and gives the impression that he hits big home runs. Polanco, 31, is a left-handed outfielder from the Dominican Republic. He will come to Japan this season and play for the Giants. In 138 games, he batted .240 (105 in 438) with 24 homers and 58 RBIs.
