On December 27, the Chiba Lotte Marines announced that former Yomiuri Giants outfielder Gregory Polanco had joined the team.

Polanco, 31, is a left-handed outfielder from the Dominican Republic. He will come to Japan this season and play for the Giants. In 138 games, he batted .240 (105 in 438) with 24 homers and 58 RBIs.
