Lomaj scores 17 points in the German league

EWE beat the Hamburg “Towers” team playing in the ULEB Eurocup in a dramatic match with the result 96:95 (23:19, 30:28, 19:23, 24:25).

12 seconds before the end of regular time, Lomaž made two free throws in a responsible moment, reaching 95:92. In their next attack, the home team made a free long shot and 6.7 seconds before the final whistle, James Woodard tied the score, and at the other end of the field, Dewayne Russell took one of the two “penalties” (96:95) after provoking a note. The Hamburg basketball players went on the last attack, in which Lomaj intercepted the ball and threw it in the air at the last second to prevent the opponents from getting it back.

In 27 minutes and 16 seconds, the Latvian basketball player made both two two-point shots, two out of five three-pointers and seven out of eight free throws. He also had one rebound, three assists, one steal, two turnovers, three sacks, 16 efficiency points and a positive +/- (+5).

Trey Drexel led EWE with 27 points, while Russell had 17 points and eight assists. Kendale McCall had 25 points and seven assists for the hosts, while Woodard scored 20 points.

The Oldenburg team has won eight victories in the 12 matches played in the German championship and occupies the fourth place in the tournament table.

At the beginning of the season, Lomaž represented the Spanish club Zaragoza “Casademont”, but before the national team break, the two sides parted ways.
