Lisandro Martinez have returned to Manchester United after bringing Argentina to win the 2022 World Cup. Martinez’s return is good news for MU amidst a busy year-end schedule.
Martinez appeared at MU’s training center in Carrington on Wednesday (28/12/2022) or 10 days after the final World Cup 2022. While the MU players underwent a recovery session after facing Nottingham Forest.
Martinez made four appearances at the 2022 World Cup. The 24-year-old defender did not play in the final against France, which had to be decided on penalties.
Martinez had returned to Argentina to celebrate La Albiceleste’s success at the 2022 World Cup. Martinez was the only MU player in the Argentina squad to become world champion.
The return of Lisandro Martinez has given MU a breath of fresh air. The Red Devils are currently facing a busy schedule at the end of the year with less than ideal squad conditions.
Raphael Varane, who also reached the 2022 World Cup final with France, was immediately installed as a starter against Nottingham Forest even though he was not fully fit. Without his main defenders, Ten Hag also played Casemiro and Luke Shaw in the center back position.
However, it is not yet known whether Lisandro Martinez will be able to immediately appear in the next MU game. After winning over Nottingham, MU will next face Wolverhampton Wanderers on Saturday (31/12/2022) evening WIB.
