“Ķekava” beats “Lekringa” in a super-long series of “bulls”

In the ELVI floorball league for women, “Ķekava” achieved a fundamentally important victory, which on its own court only in a series of post-match shots with 4:3 beat Cēsis “Lekringa”. To determine the winners, each team performed 13 bulls, but the decisive goal was the goal of Paula Sloģe from Käka. The best player in the ranks of the winners – goalkeeper Dana Gulbe.

FK “Ķekava” hosted its closest followers – the floorball players of the Cēsi team “Lekrings”. This was the third meeting between the two teams this season, but the success of the previous two was split in half. The result of today’s match was revealed only in the second period – in the 27th minute, the captain of the Kekavian team, Paula Metalas, scored a goal (1:0). Cēsniece did not hesitate to answer with two goals by Katrina Dartas Kārkliņa and Olīvija Jarohovičas (2:1), but before the last third the result was tied again, as Liene Leite from Käka scored a goal (2:2). In the 52nd minute, Evelina Barka put the Cēsis team in the lead again (3:2), but in the 59th minute, Paula Metālas scored her second goal in this match, restoring the tie – 3:3. In the ten minutes of extra time, no goals were recorded, but luck was on the side of the home team in the series of shots after the game – twice Paula Sloģe used her chance, and once – Annie Darta Dankfelde. Cēsniece was able to respond with two after-game shots by Evelina Barkas, but it turned out to be not enough. FK “Ķekava” won 4:3 and recorded two points in the tournament table, while “Lekring” Cēsis got one point.
