La Rochelle “did the job” against Northampton, welcomes O’Gara

Ronan O’Gara (manager of La Rochelle, winner of Northampton on the first day of the Champions Cup): “It was a good match this (Saturday) evening, the players did the job. It was not so easy to keep the focus, the desire and the attitude. When you are in these standards, it is very difficult to play. It’s the best start you can make. We answered this evening. We defended very well for 70 minutes, but I’m disappointed with the two tries conceded. Five points at home against a good team in this competition, we must still be satisfied. The 23 had a good meeting tonight. Some have made good returns, others not so good, but we must continue to work. I don’t want to look in the past anymore because otherwise you live in it and we don’t want that. Now we have to focus on Ulster. The atmosphere is somewhat the same as here. But we play rugby to have this kind of meeting. We will have to attack this match with the same desire as tonight.»
