(Seoul = Yonhap News) Reporter Gyu-bin Hong = The Korean Junior Badminton Team won two gold medals and three bronze medals at the 2022 Asian Junior Championships.

The national team won the under-17 (U-17) women’s doubles category and the under-15 (U-15) men’s doubles category at the tournament held in Nonthaburi, Thailand on the 4th (Korean time).

‘Twin sisters’ Kim Min-ji and Kim Min-seon (above Chiakgo) defeated Indonesia’s Titis Maurida Rahma-Bernadine Anindiya Wardana 2-0 (21-18 21-18) in the U-17 women’s doubles final.

In the U-15 men’s doubles, Jeong Da-hwan (Hwasun Middle School) and Na Seon-jae (Uijeongbu-si G-Sports Club) beat Muhammad Rizki Mubarok-Rayhan Dafa Edsel Pramono 2-0 (22-20 21-19).

In addition, in U-15, women’s doubles Kim Na-yeon and Kwon Hye-won (above Gwangju Weight) and mixed doubles Lee Min-jae (Jeongeup Middle School) and Lee Song-yeon (Myeongin Middle School) ranked third.

Kim Min-seon, who also challenged in the U-17 women’s singles, also had to be content with third place, failing to cross the threshold of the final.
