Weekend meant the one just ended for the Judo Trani coach Nicola Loprieno. For the JUDO SECTORSaturday transfer to the Marche region, precisely to the Palatroccoli, the main sports arena of the splendid city of Jesi, proclaimed European city of sport in 2014, to participate, together with the two technicians Michele Napolitano and Leonardo Occhionorelli and the athlete Domenico Occhionorelli, in an important training course open to technicians and athletes (from the Cadet Cat.) held by MASTER 9th DAN Adrian Neil Adams.
Master Adams was the first Briton to win a world title and the first Briton to hold a world title and a European title simultaneously, gold medalist at the 1981 World Judo Championships in Maastricht, silver medalist at the Summer Olympic Games 1980 and 1984 and 1983 World Judo Championships, five times European champion, and twice Great Britain champion, winning the lightweight and middleweight divisions at the 1976 and 1988 British Judo Championships. Promoted, in 2018 by International Judo Federation 9th Dan degree certificate delivered in 2019 at the Grand Slam tournament in Paris by the president of the federation, Marius Vizer. Coach of the VJF national judo team in Belgium, later became head coach of the Welsh Judo Association. He is now a commentator for the IJF.
For the FIGHT SECTOR: Sunday in Tuscany, precisely in Livorno, located along the coast of the Ligurian Sea with one of the most important Italian ports, to participate in the INTERNATIONAL LABRONE FIGHTING TROPHY U15/17 FREE STYLE which saw athletes from different countries compete: ITALY, SPAIN, ISRAEL, MOLDOVA and FRANCE. Representing our association was the athlete Domenico Occhionorelli born in ’09 who, for the first time, played in such a high-level international tournament, appearing well and finishing in 5th place, losing the final for the bronze with the Israeli athlete.
Coach Nicola Loprieno is satisfied with the growth of the entire wrestling sector and of all his boys who carry on their great passion with commitment and sacrifice. Now head to the next sporting event on Saturday in Ostia for the Italian wrestling cup which will see us present with the athletes Erika Berardino and Fabio Carbone.
