Beaten in the quarter-finals by the Japanese Olympic champion Nagase Takanori, Nicolas Chilard (25 years old, -81 kg) then lost against the Canadian François Gauthier-Drapeau during the match for the bronze medal of the Grand Slam of Tokyo (Japan ), this Saturday. The Gabéricois, winner of the Grand Slam in Abu Dhabi (United Arab Emirates) and the Oceania Open in Perth (Australia) in October, finally ranks 7th in the Japanese tournament.
Another Frenchman Alpha Djalo (26) managed to get on the podium after beating the Japanese Takeshi Sasaki for the bronze medal. This is not a good operation for Nicolas Chilard in the race to qualify for the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris.
Kenya Kohara won the Grand Slam after defeating Takanori Nagase in an all-Japanese final.
